This week I visited Access Panels in West Lothian, Dundee and Angus who are all doing amazing work in their area. It’s really good to be able to put a face to the names and voices at the end of the phone and to hear of the challenges and barriers they face.
In addition, I have had a very constructive meeting with Stephanie Rose from Police Scotland regarding 3rd party hate crime reporting and how we can work with them to combat this. Latest figures show that hate crime against disabled people is on the rise, but what is reported is only the tip of the iceberg. I look forward to developing this further with Stephanie, who is a very committed person, good to have her working with us.
