Moffat Community Council
The Panel is working alongside Moffat Community Council to improve access to the town centre as well as to businesses in the town. We are providing regular advice to the Community Council on how to achieve increased accessibility.
Village Halls in Dumfries & Galloway
A few years ago, the Dumfries & Galloway Council transferred responsibility for the control and maintenance of many village halls in the region to the local communities that they served. Most of these village halls quickly discovered that their halls were not accessible and therefore not inclusive of all people in their areas. A number of these village halls have now contacted the Panel seeking assistance and advice on how to improve accessibility.
Health and Social Care Integration Health & Social Care Integration (H&SCI)
The Panel is a member of Dumfries & Galloway Third Sector Interface (Dumfries & Galloway Third Sector Interface (TSI). The TSI has asked a panel member to represent the whole of the Third Sector in the region on the Strategic Planning Group for H&SCI. Our panel member is a member of SNAP (Scottish National Action Plan) Health and Social Care Action Group.
Dumfries & Galloway LGBT Plus
The Panel is working closely with Dumfries & Galloway LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Plus to help this organisation, which is for LGBT people over the age of 50, to become established. Of course, our interest is in ensuring that this new organisation is effective in providing support for older and disabled LGBT people in the region.
