AccessAble Borders CIC

Scottish BordersAccessAble is the recognised Access Panel for the central Scottish Borders. We work towards achieving equality for disabled people and creating an accessible environment for all.

Access is not just about physically getting around a building; it includes everything people might need or desire to live a full and independent life: equal access to information, services, job opportunities, social events, etc.

The panel is constituted as AccessAble Borders C.I.C., a community interest company limited by guarantee registered in Scotland number SC499164.

We can be involved in reviewing existing buildings and planning applications for new developments from an access perspective, providing feedback to local and central government on policies which affect disabled people, and providing a forum for the views of disabled people to be heard.

The panel is a small group of volunteers, the majority of whom have a disability, who have a genuine interest in equality. AccessAble is pleased to have engaged with the younger generation and have youth representatives on the panel.
